Dr. Eric Yuan is an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University’s Computer Science Department, teaching graduate courses in Mathematical Foundations for Computer Science and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence. He is founder and president of EntWerx LLC, an IT services firm providing software expertise and strategic advisory to DoD and other public sector clients.
Previously, Dr. Yuan served as VP of Engineering at Booz Allen Hamilton (Fortune 500) and held technical/management roles at Aerospace Corporation, Oracle, and Bell Atlantic (now Verizon). His key clients have included DoD Chief Data and AI Officer (CDAO), US Army, US Air Force, and US Space Force. Throughout his career, he has architected and delivered numerous complex, mission-critical software solutions.
Dr. Yuan has published 20+ peer-reviewed research papers in software engineering with over 1,400 Google Scholar citations. He is a member of IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and ACM, and has served on organizing committees for major conferences including the International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA).
Dr. Yuan has served as both expert witness and consultant on numerous litigation matters, ranging from intellectual property cases involving patent, trade secret, and copyright law to breach of contract disputes involving software project failures. His expertise encompasses a wide range of software technologies, including enterprise systems, AI applications, cloud computing architectures, and mission-critical defense systems. He has prepared comprehensive expert reports addressing software architecture, development methodologies, code implementation, and industry standards.
Dr. Yuan effectively communicates complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including judges, juries, and legal teams. He has experience with depositions, declarations, and courtroom testimony, drawing upon his teaching background to present technical information in an accessible manner. His unique combination of academic rigor and practical industry experience enables him to provide clear, authoritative opinions on technical matters. His deep understanding of both government and commercial software development practices proves particularly valuable in disputes involving public sector contracts and defense-related technologies.
